Celebrating its 90th year, the Feast of San Gennaro kicked off this past Thursday, September 15th and runs through Sunday, September 25th in Little Italy. This 11-day festival is an annual celebration of the protector and Patron Saint of Naples, San Gennaro. It has become a well-known and popular annual festival in New York City. The festival is filled with plenty of food, drink and outdoor dining, live music and entertainment, parades and floats, activities and much more.
Speaking of food, you certainly can’t walk through the festival without stopping by some of the food stations selling sausage & peppers, spinach pie, zeppoles, cannolis, pizza, pastas and much more. There are plenty of fine Italian restaurants with outdoor seating, beer gardens (please drink responsibly!) and refreshment stands selling lemonade, iced tea and other beverages. If you happen to be in the neighborhood, take some time to check it out!
